Rukhsar Rehman, who was a regular in serials and made a few cameos in films like PK, Sarkar, and God Tussi Great Ho, recently opened up about the challenges she faced in her personal life while trying to make a place in the industry.

Rukhsar revealed she was married off forcibly by her parents. She fled with her infant daughter to survive when she was only 19.

In an interaction with Humans of Bombay, Rukhsar Rehman said she made her debut in Deepak Anand’s Yaad Rakhegi Duniya (1992) when she was 17. The actor also featured with Rishi Kapoor in the film Inteha Pyar Ki.

However, her parents didn’t approve of her career and made her quit acting forcibly to get her married. 

At 19, Rukshar became a mother of a baby girl, Aisha.

“With Aisha, I found my new purpose. Life looked perfect from the outside. I was trying to be a good wife. But over time, the cracks began to show. And the marriage fell apart,” she said.

One day, Rukhsar mustered the courage to take a step forward for herself – she fled with her 8-month old daughter on her lap. “One night, I packed what little I could and left. My daughter was just 8 months old, asleep, unaware our life was about to change. I kept asking myself, ‘Am I doing the right thing?’ But I knew I had tried everything. When my father opened the door, he didn’t ask questions – just said, ‘You’ll be okay,” she recalled.

To make ends meet, she then opened a garment boutique in her hometown Rampur, Uttar Pradesh. But the actor inside her always wanted to make a comeback.

Years later, Rukhsar also married filmmaker Faruk Kabir, but they filed for divorce after 13 years. “It hurt, but Aisha was by my side. I believe she raised me too. There was a time I thought my story was over. But I loved acting too much to let it go. When you’re meant to do something, you find your way back – when you’re ready,” she concluded.

“If the demand is not complied with within seven days, the company will be constrained to pursue appropriate legal remedies,” said the statement

Days after Akshay Kumar sued Paresh Rawal for Rs 25 crore as damages for leaving Hera Pheri 3 shoot midway, his production house Cape Of Good Films has issued a long statement, detailing the legal aspects of this suing. The statement mentioned that Paresh Rawal had accepted Rs 11 lakh signing amount. It cited that Paresh Rawal didn’t express his dissatisfaction at any point of time during the initial shoot of the film. 

The legal document also issued a warning, saying, if Paresh Rawal didn’t deposit Rs 25 crore within seven days, civil and criminal actions would be initiated against him.

The statement mentioned that Paresh Rawal himself announced that he was a part of Hera Pheri 3 via an X post on January 30. 

“Mr Rawal had publicly acknowledged his participation in the film on 30th January 2025 via a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle. He further formalised his commitment by executing a Term Sheet dated 27th March 2025, pursuant to which he accepted a part payment of Rs 11,00,000/- towards his remuneration. Acting in complete reliance on his public endorsement and contractual commitment, Cape of Good Films incurred substantial production and promotional expenditures, including those for the teaser and initial film shoot, in which Mr Rawal actively participated,” it read.

The notice said that the teaser was shot on April 3, and Paresh Rawal shot more than 3-minutes of the footage.

“The teaser shoot commenced on 3rd April 2025, and over 3 minutes of footage was shot with Mr Rawal. He also engaged in creative discussions and planning with fellow cast members, including Mr Akshay Kumar and Mr Suniel Shetty. At no point during this period were any concerns raised by Mr Rawal regarding creative issues,” it said

Singer Adnan Sami, who is of Pakistani descent and formally became an Indian citizen in 2016, has wished his son Azaan a heartfelt happy birthday, and expressed immense pride in his growth as an artist and a person.

The two staff members of the Israeli Embassy in Washington DC – Yaron and Sarah – who were shot dead on Wednesday evening were a couple and were going to get engaged soon, Israel’s Ambassador to the US, Yechiel Leiter, said. According to the envoy, the man had bought a ring earlier to propose to his girlfriend next week.

“The young man purchased a ring this week with the intention of proposing to his girlfriend next week in Jerusalem. They were a beautiful couple,” Mr Leiter said.

The Embassy of Israel to US in a post condemned the attack and expressed grief over the death of their friends and colleagues.

“Yaron and Sarah were our friends and colleagues. They were in the prime of their lives. This evening, a terrorist shot and killed them as they exited an event at the Capital Jewish Museum in DC. The entire embassy staff is heartbroken and devastated by their murder. No words can express the depth of our grief and horror at this devastating loss. Our hearts are with their families, and the embassy will be by their side during this terrible time,” it said.

Salman Khan has been under a high security cover since the attack at his house last year. He was upgraded to Y+ security after the firing incident.

A 23-year-old man, Jitendra Kumar Singh, illegally entered Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai, claiming he wanted to meet the actor. He was arrested after being confronted by security. Mr Khan has heightened security due to past threats and incidents.

A 23-year-old man illegally entered Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai – Galaxy Apartments – earlier this week, police said on Thursday. The man, identified as Jitendra Kumar Singh, entered the house on May 20 at around 7:15 pm.

According to the police, Singh was first seen roaming around Mr Khan’s house in Bandra around 9:45 am. The police officer deployed for Mr Khan’s security asked him to leave. Angered by this, Singh threw his mobile phone on the ground and broke it. The same day in the evening, Singh entered the Galaxy Apartments in a car belonging to a person living in the same building. However, he was stopped by the police again, and this time, they handed him over to the Bandra police, officials said.
